Every winter, Brussels transforms its historic centre into a major festive destination with Winter Wonders. Around the Grand-Place, shopping streets, medieval lanes and heritage façades welcome millions of visitors.

Through Pact Solutions, Leblanc Illuminations supports the City with bespoke 2D and 3D lighting installations, designed to elevate the city’s festive experience for visitors and residents.

The Challenge : 

The City of Brussels wanted to illuminate a new street near the Grand-Place with bespoke illuminated chandeliers, designed to blend harmoniously into a particularly demanding heritage setting.

The project had to respect architectural perspectives, preserve the identity of the historic centre and create a strong visual presence in this busy area. Just days before installation, the chandeliers had to be enlarged by around 30%, from 2.20 m to 2.90 m, without compromising the agreed schedule, safety standards or the aesthetic quality and coherence of the project.

Following a detailed assessment of the site and installation constraints, the teams quickly reworked the chandeliers to enhance their visual impact while preserving their elegance and ensuring seamless integration within the surrounding urban environment.
