 The challenge  :

The installation had to faithfully reflect the visual identity of Día de Muertos, respecting its symbols, colours and cultural significance, in a highly visible urban environment.

Beyond ensuring the visual consistency of the project, the illuminated decorations had to be deployed across more than 14 kilometres, with the production of 1,430 decorations coordinated within a six-month project schedule.

Key challenges

  • Respect the cultural identity of Día de Muertos.
  • Accurately reproduce the cempasúchil colour.
  • Install decorations across more than 14 kilometres.
  • Ensure safety and resistance to weather conditions.
  • Meet production and installation deadlines.

 The solution :

Leblanc Illuminations mobilised its international organisation to coordinate the project between France and Mexico.

While the design and engineering teams developed the concepts, materials and technical specifications, the Mexican subsidiary handled local manufacturing and on-site project coordination.

Key actions

  • Design and engineering developed in France.
  • Identification of the exact cempasúchil orange shade.
  • International coordination between Europe and Mexico.
  • Local manufacturing at the Mexican production facility.
  • Production of 540 2D illuminated chandeliers, 800 3D hanging decorations and 90 3D flowers.
  • Installation and supervision throughout the event.

This organisation ensured reliable project delivery, a high quality of finish and seamless integration of the illuminated decorations into the urban environment.

The results  :

On 1 November 2025, Paseo de la Reforma was transformed into an immersive illuminated experience, accompanying residents and international visitors along the route.
