Purpose of data processing

Purpose

Leblanc Illuminations collects and processes personal data in order to:

  • manage the creation and administration of customer accounts;
  • enable users to browse the catalogue and, where applicable, place orders;
  • process contact requests, enquiries and quotation requests;
  • manage customer relationships;
  • communicate with users regarding their requests or orders;
  • send newsletters and commercial communications to individuals who have given their consent or where permitted by applicable law;
  • improve the operation and performance of the website through audience measurement and usage statistics;
  • ensure website security and prevent fraudulent activities.

Legal basis

Processing activities are based on the following legal grounds under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR):

  • Article 6(1)(b): performance of a contract or implementation of pre-contractual measures (customer account creation, order processing, quotation requests and customer relationship management);
  • Article 6(1)(f): Leblanc Illuminations' legitimate interests (website security, service improvement, audience measurement, website analytics and management of contact requests);
  • Article 6(1)(a): the data subject's consent (newsletter subscriptions, use of non-essential cookies and trackers, and email marketing tracking).

Use of Tracking Pixels in Electronic Communications

Email Open Tracking

As part of our electronic communications (newsletters, commercial information, event invitations or other marketing communications), we may use tracking technologies known as tracking pixels or web beacons.

These technologies enable us to determine whether an email has been opened and to assess the effectiveness of our communication campaigns.

Where required by applicable law, such processing is carried out only after obtaining your prior consent.

 Source of the Data 

Personal data is collected directly from users:

  • when creating a customer account;
  • when submitting a contact or quotation request;
  • when placing an order;
  • when subscribing to the newsletter;
  • when browsing the website, in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

Mandatory Data Collection 

Certain information is mandatory in order to:

  • create a customer account;
  • process orders;
  • manage contact requests and quotation requests.

Mandatory fields are identified at the time of collection.

Categories of recipients

Within the limits of their respective responsibilities, personal data may be accessed by:

  • customer account data: for the duration of the account and subsequently archived where required by law;
  • contact requests and quotation requests: for the time necessary to process the request, followed by archiving where appropriate;
  • newsletter subscription data: until consent is withdrawn or the user unsubscribes;
  • browsing data: in accordance with the retention periods provided for by applicable regulations.

Security

Leblanc Illuminations implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and security of personal data.

Access to administrative tools is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Communications are secured and protected by appropriate security measures.

Your rights regarding your personal data

In accordance with the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • the right of access;
  • the right to rectification;
  • the right to erasure;
  • the right to restriction of processing;
  • the right to object;
  • the right to data portability, where applicable;
